Verena Eggensberger grew up in Germany and studied violin and music education with Prof. Sonja Korkeala at the University of Music and Theatre in Munich. After completing these two studies, she focused primarily on historical performance practice and completed her master’s degree in baroque violin with highest honours under Prof. Mary Utiger. She received important artistic impulses through masterclasses with Ingolf Turban, Linus Roth, and Maria-Elisabeth Lott.
Her scholarships with baroque orchestras like the Hofkapelle München and il gusto barocco have given her opportunities to perform at festivals such as the Herrenchiemsee Festival, the Rheingau Festival and the Regensburg Early Music Festival.
At the zamus:academy in Cologne, she performed in a chamber music concert alongside Evgeny Sviridov and Clara Blessing. As a concerto soloist, she appeared at the Brecon Baroque Festival alongside Rachel Podger and Sabine Stoffer, performing Vivaldi’s Concerto for 3 Violins in F major. More recently, she performed Brandenburg Concerto No. 4 at the Marylebone Festival, as well as Bach’s Violin Concerto in A minor with the Allgäuer Kantatenorchester.
Furthermore she was a member of the Experience Scheme of the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment and was awarded a fellowship with Holland Baroque for the season 2024/25.
In 2025 she completed a Professional Artist Diploma with Rachel Podger at the Royal Academy of Music in London, supported by a full scholarship from the Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst (DAAD). She was awarded second prize at the Mica Comberti Bach Prize (RAM) and first Prize with the Duke’s Consort, at the Nancy Nuttall Competition (RAM).
Verena is currently based in London and holds a fellowship at the Royal Academy of Music for the 2025/26 academic year.
Verena Eggensberger wuchs in Memmingen auf und studierte zunächst Schulmusik und Violine bei Prof. Sonja Korkeala an der Hochschule für Musik und Theater München. Anschließend wandte sie sich der historischen Aufführungspraxis zu und absolvierte ihr Masterstudium im Fach Barockvioline bei Prof. Mary Utiger mit Bestnote. Wichtige künstlerische Impulse erhielt sie außerdem in Meisterkursen bei Ingolf Turban, Linus Roth und Maria- Elisabeth Lott. Im Sommer 2025 schloss sie ihr Professional Artist Diploma bei Rachel Podger an der Royal Academy of Music in London „with Distinction“ ab. Für dieses Studium erhielt sie ein Stipendium des Deutschen Akademischen Austauschdienstes (DAAD).
Als Akademistin der Hofkapelle München und mit dem Ensemble il gusto barocco hatte sie Gelegenheit bei Festivals wie den Herrenchiemsee Festspielen, dem Rheingau Musik Festival und den Tagen Alter Musik Regensburg aufzutreten.
Im Rahmen der zamus:academy in Köln wirkte sie bei einem Kammermusikkonzert mit Evgeny Sviridov und Clara Blessing mit. Außerdem trat sie beim Brecon Baroque Festival solistisch an der Seite von Rachel Podger und Sabine Stoffer auf. Auch war sie kürzlich als Solistin mit dem Brandenburgischen Konzert No.4 beim Marylebone Festival sowie mit J.S. Bachs Violinkonzert a-Moll gemeinsam mit dem Allgäuer Kantatenorchester zu erleben.
2024/25 war sie Mitglied im Experience Scheme des Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment und Stipendiatin des Ensembles Holland Baroque.
Sie wurde mit dem 2. Preis beim Mica Comberti Bach Prize (RAM) ausgezeichnet und erspielte mit dem Duke’s Consort den 1. Preis beim Nancy Nuttal Prize (RAM).
Verena lebt derzeit in London und wurde für das Studienjahr 2025/26 mit einem Fellowship der Royal Academy of Music ausgezeichnet.
