Verena Eggensberger
~ Baroque violinist ~
Verena Eggensberger is a freelance Baroque violinist active primarily in the UK and Germany. She combines solo appearances with chamber music (Ardour Baroque), as well as engagements with leading period instrument orchestras and ensembles. Verena is currently based in London and teaches chamber music as part of a fellowship at the Royal Academy of Music.
In 2025, she completed the Professional Artist Diploma with Rachel Podger at the Royal Academy of Music in London with Distinction. Prior to this, she studied music education and violin with Prof. Sonja Korkeala at the University of Music and Theatre Munich, before specialising in Baroque violin and graduating with highest honours in her Master’s degree with Prof. Mary Utiger.
She was part of the Experience Scheme of the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment and a scholarship holder of Holland Baroque. She was also an academy member of Hofkapelle München and il Gusto Barocco.
Highlights of the current season include solo recitals in St Andrews and Oxford, chamber music concerts with La Serenissima and Tabea Debus and festival appearances with Rachel Podger and Brecon Baroque.
